As many of you know we were closed for the entire month of October while we renovated the building. It was a fairly intense process as the two of us attempted to do as much of the work by ourselves as possible! Which means we learned how to do drywall, build a rope wall, rewire outlets, and construct copper pipe clothing racks. The store looks a lot different, but we hope that the scent of incense and the hodgepodge of different handpicked items reminds you of the spirit of the store Laurel created. One thing that remained - thanks to the generosity of Laurel’s sons, Ben and Dan - her stained glass rooster still hangs proudly in the store now in its new home over our front door.

Below you’ll find some photos showing the process of the renovation as well as a taste of what the updated store looks like now. We hope you’ll come visit soon!

E-Commerce is here!

Since day 1, Rachel and I knew we wanted to integrate e-commerce for our clientele that doesn't live locally.  Today we officially launched that portion of our website!  So far we've only got a few rings online, but soon you'll be able to shop our soap, home goods,  clothing, and featured artists - all from the comfort of your own home!  We're happy to be able to ship our unique merchandise to you anywhere in the US.

We also have a remodel starting date (although if you swing by the store during September, there's a good chance you'll find one or both of us with drywall or paint on our faces... we have begun work on the back half of the store!).  However, we will be closed September 26 through October 18 for a full update of the store - new paint, freshly stained floors, and new fixtures!  I can't wait to show you all what the updated store looks like

Changes are happening

Good morning!
Its been a busy few weeks since we took over the store at the beginning of July.  In the last three weeks we have totally rearranged the store, done some deep cleaning, and started sorting through inventory (plus brought in some fun new merchandise!).  We also did a walk through and laid out our new floor plan for the renovation this fall - which we are so excited about!
And if you haven't heard yet - there's going to a be a massive sidewalk sale July 26-29 with clothing, jewelry, and home decor on sale... you definitely want to stop by for it.
On a fun note - Rachel and I have been making new friends in town - from the girls that have worked at the store for the last few years (Hi Annie, Jood, Pam, and Kay!), to the fun guys over at ZuhG Life Surf Shop (be sure to check out their store) who have been so welcoming to us.  We also had the pleasure of meeting Laurel's son Ben yesterday, and that was so good to just be able to chat for a minute (and as a teaser... he's bringing me some art to look at next week, so for those of you who have been asking us where his work is, I have a feeling there's going to be some in the store soon!).
Just to wrap this up - here's some photos of the store and products we've been arranging and inventorying

Coming Soon

Hi everyone!

Very soon you'll be able to follow us here as we continue on Laurel's wonderful story that she started in 1972 with the Red Cock Craftsmen's Outlet.  You'll notice some changes (minor adjustment to the name, and some fresh paint in the store) - but we hope to honor the spirit of what Laurel created, and to just keep adding on to what she has already built - through the store, the stories her beautiful friends tell, and the tribe of women that have kept the store running over the last two years.  Meanwhile, we will be blogging some of our remodel and updates, as well as new inventory, and information about our vendors and indie makers.  We hope you follow along!

Beginning in July the two of us (Rachel and Krista - "hello!") will be taking over the keys to the store.  We're two single moms; artists who met and bonded over photography in Idaho, and are recent transplants to the coast.  Our stories will be on here as well and we can't wait for you to get to know us.  In the meantime - please come by the store after July 10th to say hi in person and see who we are and why we are so thrilled to be able to keep the Red Cock open!  We are both overwhelmingly stoked to be a part of the Lincoln City - and Oregon Coastal - community and can't wait to get to know everybody!

All our love
Wander wild and free, friends...
