Annie began her art journey after her mother passed away in 2011. Her mother was a prayer warrior and gardener for 94 1/2 years, and after she passed, Annie returned to Oregon, and while on the phone with a friend from high school she began idly doodling botanicals on a piece of paper. When she finished she thought too herself “Where did that come from? I didn’t know I could do that” and the words “The garden still grows, but the color is gone, she blooms elsewhere” came to her. Annie realized after thinking those words that her image looked like her mothers garden, and realized that she lost fear and gained the gift of being unafraid to create and allow the flow to go from her heart, through the pen, to paper for others in the garden of life.
